The Peechi Wildlife Sanctuary is one of the most picturesque national parks in Kerala, India. Situated in the catchments areas of Peechi and Vazhani dams in Trichur District of Kerala, Peechi is a veritable treasure trove of rare flora and fauna. Spreading over an area of approx. 125 sq km, the Peechi Wildlife Sanctuary was declared a National Park in 1958 to protect and preserve its natural richness. Adding to its scenic charm, there is the beautiful Peechi Dam in the middle of the sanctuary, offering excellent boating facilities to the visitors.
The topography of the Peechi Wildlife Sanctuary consists of enchanting lush green plains and hills. The vegetation of Peechi chiefly comprises of dense moist deciduous and semi-evergreen forests with over 50 species of orchids and innumerable varieties of medicinal plants.
